Introducing easy-to-use stationery and ZINE binding tools, and ergonomic computer peripherals

平田提

Here are some of the computer peripherals, bookbinding tools, and stationery items used in the DIY BOOKS (TOGL) office. Of course, I like the designs, but I also prioritize items that are comfortable to use and reduce strain on the body. I hope this is helpful!

Computer Peripherals

Desktop PC
A BTO PC from Frontier. I wanted to make the memory, CPU, and graphics card relatively rich (because I open multiple browsers and use Adobe software), so I looked for an affordable option and found this.

Kinesis Advantage 2 Ergonomic Keyboard (KB600)
Everyone who visits is surprised by this keyboard. It's split into two halves, and the keys are arranged in a bowl shape. Since I started using it, I haven't suffered from腱鞘炎(tenosynovitis). The important keys are concentrated on the thumb. You'll get used to it in about a week. However, the price has skyrocketed.

Apple 2025 MacBook Pro 10 (M5/1TBSSD/24GB/Space Black)
I recently switched back to Mac at home after a long time. The screen quality and integration with iPhone and iPad are excellent.

Topre REALFORCE SA R2 Tenkeyless Silent/APC function
When it comes to mechanical keyboards, Topre is the one. The Sumi (black) print looks cool, but sometimes it's hard to see... but I really like the typing feel. My fingers don't get tired easily.

Kensington SlimBlade Trackball Mouse
I've tried various mice, but since I switched to this, I haven't had tenosynovitis. The many assignable buttons are also a plus.

Root R USB 3-Pedal Foot Switch
I also use my feet. To combat lack of exercise and improve efficiency, and to avoid tenosynovitis. I've assigned "Alt" only to the left, "Ctrl + Tab" to the middle, and "Ctrl + Shift + Tab" to the right.

Bauhutte Detachable Large Keyboard Slider
Most people's keyboards are too high, which can lead to tenosynovitis. A keyboard slider lowers the keyboard position. This one is a clamp type.

StarTech.com Sliding Keyboard Tray
I use this at home. You have to drill holes in the desk, but the high mobility is good.

LG Monitor Display 34WP550-B 34 inch/21:9 Flat Ultrawide (2560x1080)/HDR/IPS Matte/FreeSync/75Hz
LG monitors display a beautiful image even when viewed from the side or at an angle. First-time visitors are surprised by its horizontal length, but I usually arrange two browsers or applications side-by-side, so this is what I chose.

ERGOTRON LX Monitor Arm Desk Mount Matte Black
It moves smoothly and has a cool texture. Make sure your monitor is VESA compliant.

Ayur-Chair Caster Type Octopus
Since I started using this Ayur-Chair, I've been freed from the lower back pain and herniated discs that used to force me to walk like a Velociraptor (dinosaur) several times a day. I have one in the office and one at home, and also a floor chair.

Adobe Creative Cloud Pro
Ultimately, I can't escape Adobe. I use InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, and Audition every day. I'd be happy if it were a little cheaper.

SHURE MV7+ Podcast Microphone
The one I use is an older model than this, but it doesn't pick up noise and records sound well. I have two of them. It can be connected via both USB and XLR, but with XLR, if mixed with other microphone types, this mic might be a bit quieter.

ZOOM AMS-44 Audio Interface
It's useful for school classes, etc., as it can connect up to 4 microphones. It also supports guitar input, so I want to use it for music composition in the future.

ATEM Mini SWATEMMINI
Used for streaming and recording with multiple cameras.

OBSBOT TINY 2 Lite Webcam 4
The image quality is good. I don't use the auto-tracking function much.

Stationery

LAMY Safari Fountain Pen
I have about five Safari pens where I've changed the cartridge to a suction converter. The collaboration model with Itoya is my favorite.

Sharpie Black Oil-Based Marker
The smell is addictive (for better or worse), but it's easy to draw with.

Zequenz 360 The Color Notebook L Dotted
The key point is that it opens 360 degrees. It's durable and a fun notebook to use.

RHODIA Memo Pad No. 11 (A7)
Since I was a new graduate, I've been writing my daily to-do lists in a Rhodia memo pad and checking them off as I worked. The cover is a sentimental item, a gift from a former boss.

Shiny Stamp Data Stamp No. 5
I look forward to stamping this on my daily diary and notes.

Shachihata Stamp Pad Small Black
This accompanies the Shiny stamp.

King Jim Digital Memo "Pomera" DM250
Whether this counts as stationery is debatable, but since it's King Jim, I'll allow it. It's only for writing text, so I use it to concentrate. The DM200 is more popular among Pomera users, but I also like this one.

Tajima All-Purpose Tool Cutter Dorafin L510
Tajima Cutter Replacement Blade Large Sugoha Black L-Type Blade 18mm

It has excellent cutting performance, so it's often used for bookbinding.

Time Timer (Lake Blue)
I think I learned about this from a book related to the "Pomodoro Technique," which says you can concentrate by working in 25-minute intervals. It was originally a product to help children concentrate. It's easy to understand. I have several of them.

Bookbinding Tools

Max Stapler Bimo 11 Long Saddle Stitch 100 Staples White HD-11DB/W
If you're saddle-stitching, this is highly recommended. DIY BOOKS uses two of them. It can handle up to about 72 pages.

PLUS Paper Cutter Hanbunko A3 Cuts 20 Sheets PK-811
Used to cut A3 to A4 when paper is short, or to cut business cards and other cards. A handy tool.

A3 Paper Cutter Large Paper Cutter Cuts up to 400 sheets
There are many products from unknown manufacturers on Amazon, but they are powerful. Replacement blades are usually common. However, be careful as it is heavy.

Bookbinding rollers, etc.
I buy them from a place called Bunabuna Kobo!

Thank you for viewing. I hope it was helpful.
